Description

The glycolic acid alpha-hydroxy acid exfoliates the skin. This toning solution contains 7% glycolic acid, which provides moderate exfoliation for improved skin brightness and clarity. With continued use, the treatment improves the appearance of skin texture.

In this recipe, a Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative was investigated. The colour of this plant-derived derivative varies annually, and this colour variation may be apparent in the formula from time to time. Ginseng root and aloe vera are also utilised in the formula to improve the appearance and soothe the skin. Skin that is sensitive, peeling, or impaired should not use this product. The pH of this recipe is around 3.6. Glycolic Acid has a pKa of 3.6, and the pKa is the most important thing to consider when formulating with acids. The pKa value indicates acid availability. When pKa is close to pH, there is a perfect balance of salt and acidity, which increases the acid's effectiveness while minimising pain. In this case, greater pH levels would increase salt, making the recipe even more unpleasant than if it were more acidic. Note: While exfoliating acids can produce instant benefits, we normally prefer indirect methods of skin exfoliation over direct methods such as this recipe since acids can cause irritation and pain.

How To Use

Use only in the evenings and no more than once a day. After cleansing, soak a cotton pad in the product and brush it about the face and neck. If you have sensitive, peeling, or damaged skin, proceed with caution. Avoid making eye contact and changing the contour of your eyes. Only use water to rinse if required. Continue with further skin treatments as needed. The product's contact with the skin should be kept to a minimum in terms of both frequency and duration. If irritation occurs, stop using the product and seek medical attention. Use only as directed on intact skin. Before using your product, it is advised that you test it on a patch. Keep out of children's reach. Sunburn Warning: This product contains alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), which may make your skin more sensitive to the sun, increasing your risk of sunburn. Use sunscreen, wear protective clothes, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for the next week.
